Ok – so at church we recently had movie night on July 26th, 2026. The Film was titled “Why Stand with Israel” – it was enlightening. It made me think about how much does the church in America, and in general across the world, understand what God and His Word say about Israel; plus, what are the basic thoughts regarding it. Let’s look at some statements and statistics from the film:
• 72% wish they knew more about what the Bible teaches about Israel’s future (out of ~1,962 people; those 65+ most
likely to agree).
• 45% say the Bible has most influenced their opinions about Israel (56% list the Bible among influencers; local church
is only 25%, media 27%). Positive perceptions of Israel are strongest among those 65+; Millennials show significantly
less support.
• 69% agree Jewish people have a historic right to the land of Israel.
• 63% disagree that “biblical passages about Jewish people having a right to the land of Israel no longer apply today” (i.e., most still see the biblical right as applying).
• 32% say they have “no strong views about the State of Israel” (overall; more than 4 in 10 Millennials ages 18–34 at
41%; lower among those 50–64 at 33% and 65+ at 22%; Black non-Hispanics are the highest at 52%).
• Only 25% say their local church influenced their opinions about Israel, so a large majority (~75%) have not been influenced by their church on the topic. (Those 65+ least likely to cite media; older groups more likely to cite the Bible.)
• An Additional figure cited in interviews about the film (director Brian Sanders): 96% of church pastors have never
talked about Israel from the pulpit.
• 67% have a positive perception of Israel overall.
• 80% see the 1948 rebirth and Jewish regathering as fulfillments of Bible prophecy.
• 76% agree Christians should support the Jewish people’s right to live in the sovereign State of Israel.
• 80% agree God’s promise to Abraham and his descendants was for all time.
These numbers and statements tell us that it is a worthwhile endeavor to take the time to study the Bible and know what God has said and done regarding Israel (AKA – Hebrews and Jews)…. After all, He did set them apart, make them a peculiar people unto Himself, and created them as a nation to be grounded in faith that would bless the world, and ultimately the Messiah, Jesus Christ, the Savior that would take away the sins of the World came through them.
On top of that, we as gentile believers and followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, as the Scriptures say in Romans 2:28-29, “For no one is a Jew who is merely one outwardly, nor is circumcision outward and physical. But a Jew is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. His praise is not from man but from God.” The Bible also declares in Galatians 3:28 “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
This means that we as born again believers, in God the Father’s eyes, through Jesus Christ, are seen as one of His peculiar people by the Spirit, in faith like that of Abraham who believed God.

Now, that is extraordinary! What great hope, promises and future we have because of Jesus. The promise of salvation, eternal life, a new heaven and earth, and the Church, along with true Israel, will be together forever with the LORD.
